Research – Solid Mechanics

Research at the Division of Solid Mechanics focuses on understanding, modelling and predicting the mechanical behaviour of materials and structures.

Our work combines theoretical, computational and experimental methods, spanning research from material microstructures and granular systems to structural optimisation and packaging materials. The research contributes to improved models, methods and engineering solutions for materials and structures subjected to complex mechanical conditions.
